I need an off the shelf, fully featured, web-based CMS to integrate into a client's site I am building. Must be easy to setup & install, be Microsoft-friendly and cost no more than 20k.

I don't want a hosted solution as my client will host it, and I don't want a solution where the company build you a bespoke system from scratch, I just want an 'out-the-box' solution that I can *cough* pretend I created. Also would help if you don't have to be a programming god to set it up ;-)

Anyone know of anything like this please??

I spent a good amount of time looking at the free ones (postnuke and derivatives, ariadne, typocms, too many others) and ended up spending fifty bucks on Author CMS.

Sounds like mutually exclusive criteria to me!

Have you looked at Microsoft Sharepoint?

Question

SJ,

From what I have now gathered it looks like sharepoint team services is part of frontpage 2002, is that right?

Cheers

First saw it on the Office 2002 pro CD, thought "ooo that looks like fun" installed it and now have a shed load of business apps running off the back of it

Sj,

Last question I promise! Does it have any basic contact management funtionality? Just need a simple contact history for logging inbound/outbound calls, dont want a full blown crm system.

cheers

The built in task listing sounds like it is an 80/20 match for you:

(quick copy and paste of the default fields)

Title:
Status:
Priority:
% Complete:
Assigned To:
Description:
Start Date:
Due Date:

Then of course you can always customise the fields or create a custom list

Happy to help
