Content Management Systems
I need an off the shelf, fully featured, web-based CMS to integrate into a client's site I am building. Must be easy to setup & install, be Microsoft-friendly and cost no more than 20k.
I don't want a hosted solution as my client will host it, and I don't want a solution where the company build you a bespoke system from scratch, I just want an 'out-the-box' solution that I can *cough* pretend I created. Also would help if you don't have to be a programming god to set it up ;-)
Anyone know of anything like this please??

I spent a good amount of time looking at the free ones (postnuke and derivatives, ariadne, typocms, too many others) and ended up spending fifty bucks on Author CMS.
Sj,
Have you tried downloading it from the M$ web site? been on there 20mins trying to get SP team services and can I find the download? Can I heck!!! Can get the SDK, Themes and the like, it says you download it from the frontpage site but when you go there, there is no mention of it. Great site design M$!!!

The built in task listing sounds like it is an 80/20 match for you:
(quick copy and paste of the default fields)
Title:
Status:
Priority:
% Complete:
Assigned To:
Description:
Start Date:
Due Date:
Then of course you can always customise the fields or create a custom list
Happy to help
