ihave a Thompson Speedtouch 510V4, which reboots itself about 5 times a day. My ISP has sent me another one, which does exactly the same. I'm certain it's not the power that's at fault, it's got surge protection and nothing else on that supply is having problems. I don't think it's the microfilters either.

A friend of mine has the same problem, and he has had no joy either.

Any ideas?

Just a thought but can you stay online long enough to update the firmware/drivers?

I've not seen a 510v4 do that. I've installed several now and had one effectively DOA (it wouldn't sync with the exchange) but the others have been fine.

http://www.dslsupport.co.uk/st510.asp has the v4.0.0.9.2 firmware.

Does it lose power or just reboot it's self?

It can stay up for several hours, never more than about 12, sometimes as little as 1.

I am running 4.0.0.9.2 (the latest I believe, but I may be wrong).

It doesn't switch itself off completely, unless it's for a split second. It just goes down to the orange power light then immediately comes up thru the boot sequence

I'm running XP home with SP1, IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet card, NAV is running, but I have disabled my software firewall in case that was it.

Just looked at the stats on the 510v4 I'm using at the moment and it's been up for over 1 day. It should be longer than that except I was messing with the microfilters last night.

Who is the ISP? Maybe worth trying a generic 510v4 config from http://www.dslsupport.co.uk/networks.asp. Save your current config to a file and then use a template from the above link to drop a fresh config onto it.

Chris.
