Hello all
Iv got a job interview on Tuesday as a CAD operator and I need a few last minuate tips for my interview ad a CAD man.
For you guys that are an engineer or along the lines do you think I will have a CAD test?
What questions will they as me along the lines of CAD?
Should I take some samples of CAD work I have done at Uni?

Hi Ray
It all depends on what they want out of you and how the company system is set up. What sort of company is it?
I started by editing flow diagrams for breweries on AutoCAD Release 9 (14 yrs ago ). Also editing site-plans etc.
They may ask you if you are familiar with using different layers, line thicknesses, paperspace/modelspace, viewports, 3D!!
I'm sure if it's your first proper full-time job they will provide assistance. As long as you can open up drawings and do some minor editing to start with I think you'll be fine.
Definately take samples. Most companies like to see proof of your own work.

Thanks Nick for the reply
The company development and design Traffic Management and Enforcement Systems (speed cameras )
They use AutoCAD and CADKey. The problem is that I am a Designer not a CAD operator so hopefully they will let me do some designing aswel (any way need to get the job first)

Once you get the job redesign the layout of the road and point the cameras towards trees instead of cars
Good luck with the interview
