as above:
anyone got this combination to work???
I refuse to buy a GPS jacket for the ipaq seeing as I have the RA on the dash..


if anyone HAS got it to work, could you provide detailed how to with part numbers for any extras needed to connect the RA and Ipaq..

WillieF iirc hs got it working on a Loox but he's not around at the moment. Essentially you need a standard serial to usb cable that works with an iPaq. There *should* be a constant NMEA output from the RA over serial, which you then map to in TomTom - GPS option, select the input "Serial Com 1" I think but play with Serial Com whatever 'til it works. There are 2 things that tell you it may work, 1 is the fact that you can put a check in the box next to the selection & 2nd is on "Status" a dotted red line going from Sat image to Car image - that & finding some sats of course

Question

I vaguely remember some talk about a "null modem" needed also??

Im new to this PDA lark, so would appreciate some help here

Why not flog the RA for a premium price at moment and that'll pay for Tomtom GPS package to go with the IPAQ?
It'll work then and still do what RA does (apart from having a pointless laser sensor).
