Recently I have been unable to open two explorer windows at the same time, if I do my Computer just crashes.
This even happens If I am looking at web pages within my computer.
I have deleted Windows Explorer and re-installed with no effect, any ideas??
Oh and I have just had this fault when I tried to start MSN messenger.
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module SHELL32.DLL at 017f:7fcbcf19.

It is possible you have faulty memory.
But i think its more like parts of the OS are becoming corrupt.
And if so, only get worse not better.
(it may also mean a dodgy hard drive)
I would take off your data, favourites, if you use Outlook express;
save the dbx files to a new location.
Partition your hard drive into at least 2, 3 would be better.
first the c: drive for your system, 2nd for data, games, apps etc.
the 3rd as a dos partition of say 2gigs.
Build the pc from scratch, partion the c : drive using fdisk for 2 gigs, the op system for 98 will not use too much space, although
will grow when you install apps(even if you dont install them on c:, as the install writes other files all over the place)
After booting the newly install OS, create a d: partition of the remaining drive space-2gigs. specify d: as the drive to install all your apps, games into. This will leave a slimmer c: drive.
Once all your apps, games installed. Create another drive, using the remaining 2 gigs.
Obtain a copy of ghost or other drive cloning software.
Boot from a floppy disk, run ghost, clone your c: drive to this newly created area.
Next time your OS show signs of falling over, use the boot disk, run ghost, use the ghost image to overwrite the ill c: drive.
Back up and running in 10 minutes.
This may take a while 2 set up but its worth it, especially when you have kids that dont care where they install crap all over the place
