I have a couple of questions. I am looking for a wireless adapter for my laptop but Advent in there infinite wisdom felt necessary to not to put a PCMCIA slot on the modal of laptop I have, but there is an expansion slot under the keyboard the cover plate over the slot actually says “Wireless LAN” on it but there isn’t anything in there.

What is this slot?? I have been told that it’s a “Mini PCI slot” is this true??

If this is a mini PCI slot where could I get a wireless network card for it from?? I have done a few searches on the net but to no avail.

Also, does it have USB slots as Netgear do a USB Wireless Card in the event we can't sort you out with your funny slot

It's an Advent 7012

And yes it does have 2 USB ports i did want an internal one but i would have a USB one if it came to it.

From what I can find, it is indeed a Mini PCI Card Slot, although there are few cards around being made for it

Do a search on google for : wireless mini pci card

There are some retail links in the box on the right, although a lot are in the states, and possibly some in the main search results as well
