I deleted an email yesterday by mistake and now I need it again. Anybody know a nifty piece of software I can use to retrieve it?

Cheers DJ & MJ. I tried that r-mail but it looks like you have to be using it before the message is deleted as it can only recover its own archived files. Looks like I might have to contact the ISP

Angry,
The R-mail proggie does work, I have just created a new folder in OE called "me" and copied in 4 messages. I then deleted the messages from the folder "me" and then deleted them from deleted items folder.
Then I fired up R mail, expanded the tree on the left, right clicked on the "me" folder and selected "messge base recovery"
The 4 messages I deleted are now viewable in the pane to the top right, the contents can be seen in the lower right pane.
It depends on how big the .dbx file is - if its reasonable you can actually view with wordpad - the text in the body of the messages will be in there somewhere ( inbetween zillions of zeros !!!), and if your deleted items folder is anything like mine 277 meg, it will take about 3 months to open.
was it the attachments or the text that was important in the lost message?

Yep beemerboy I do feel like a muppet for doing it . But I was doing some frenzied "spring cleaning" to clear out some old files and just hit the "Empty deleted Items" tab without thinking.
Nevermind eh?
(edited for my excellent spolling)

Hello
Which is why I would recommend people installing Eraser http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/ to remove all tracks of those dodgy love letters and other things on your computer!
Steve.
