Just looking at my new spec for my new pc ie barton XP 3200 cpu, 1 GB corsair RAM, 200 GB HDD DVD writer etc and now im thinking that I should be spending money on my new house instead puter bits. Its a sad day !!

Yea it is. I'm surviving on a midi tower with a celeron 450 in it.

 

Look on the bright side, a PC is next to worthless in a year or two no matter how much money you waste on the latest bells and whistles, and a house ought to just go up in value

 

Well, I'm enjoying my new doorstop (thanks m8 ) & contemplating the fact that I'm fed up of getting topped by LPB in C'strike [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Therefore, to "resolve" this issue, I am contemplating upgrading my w/station hardware to give me a better ping/reaction time - BroadBand is NOT an option

Part of the prob is my TFT screeen, so one of them nice quick reaction 17"s that were on here the other day - £400

Graphics card - 9700 Pro or nVidia - £300

New mobo (MSI latest) - £100

P4? - £150 (don't need 3.0Ghz )

RAM - £100 or so, maybe more

2x HDD ATA 133s £180?

That's £1200

I've not got that

Might just do 9700 & screen & put it on my server but thats only 4x AGP not 8

(BTW - what effect would that have?)
