I get:
Now, without logging into the 3D Mark site and using their online browser (I'm trying to cut down on spam), how do you know if that is any good or not ?
Cheers

Machine is a Dell Precison 530 running a pair of Xeon 2.4 (with HT Technology ) and a gig of RAM. Still setting it all up at the moment but I won't be overclocking it (cause you can't) or the graphics card.
So with that score I guess the card is working fine.

Couple of tweaks gives:
So I reckon this 3dMark2003 is pretty useless as a tool to give a good idea of system performance. Couple of tweaks nearly doubles the score ?

Yep, it's not too shabby.
However, I'm still trying to turn XP back into 2000, interface wise. I can't be doing with the telly-tubby look.
So, anybody know of a good benchmarking system (free) that actually stress tests all the components. By that I mean memory, storage, CPU and graphics ? I've got to burn this machine in pronto.
Cheers

ATI has admitted that it tweaked its Catalyst drivers to generate better 3DMark 03 scores and said that it will remove the modifications before the next release of the drivers.
The admission followed 3DMark creator Futuremark's audit of graphics card drivers from ATI and arch-rival Nvidia. The audit was prompted by an ExtremeTech investigation of coding within Nvidia's drivers which yields higher 3DMark 03 scores at the expense of image quality.

I think there is a clear difference between ATI & nVidia's cases. ATI optimised their drivers to improve game & benchmark performance where as nVidia blatantly coded there drivers so cheat at this benchmark.

I'd suggest Sisoft Sandra too.
Or if you have MSDN, there used to be a CD in that for the MS System Stress test util.
