Well, I like my 9700 Pro very much indeed.
I bought the one with the heat sinks and heat pipe (i.e. no fan).
Picked the PC up to fit it into on Friday and found I had problems fitting it.
One heat sink sat right up next to a voltage regulator riser board and the other side blocked a PCI slot that I needed (only got 2 32-bit PCIs, the others are 64-bit jobbies).
So, tried to modify it to fit and mananged to break the "heat pipe", I thought a little bend wouldn't hurt, "crack!!". Doh !
So, it has now one heatsink and a couple of fans cable tied on
Moral ? Have a look in the PC you are going to fit one to *before* you order it.
Anybody know of a good aftermarket heatsink/fan combo for 9700 Pros ?
Also, is a 3DMark2001 of 12012 any good ? Was going to download the 3DMark2003 until i saw how big it was. Gulp !
Cheers
Ian
