Unhappy

Hello peeps,
i'm having a bit of design "block" at the mo, can anyone point me to some inspiring html sites.
i'm trying to create a personal website and cant really get started, design wise!!!

does this make sense??

my mate suggested using photoshop, and hell chop up the resultant image into the required graphics for me.
is this a good idea?

you help is appreciated..

Although the sites on Netdiver make you feel very inadequate!!

The chopping up an image idea can work, but beware that you might end up with a site that is pure graphics, or at least graphically intensive and takes an age to load.

I use Fireworks to create comps then chop up the image and write the html to position the graphics. A 20px high blue block in the Fireworks image would show as a graphic when directly exported, but can be redrawn in html as a coloured div or table cell - much faster.
