disabling firewall???

just recently upgraded to broadband and all my settings have benn reset, i need the firewall down because i usually exchange alot of imformation throught the net, anyone help me on how to put down the firewall???

P.S. You dont need the firewall off to share data (P2P i assume). I used WinXP Pro (disabled WindowsXP firewall) and Zonealarm, and have Soulseek, Kazaa Lite set up with server rights and the security switched on.
