Unhappy

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of difficulty with reading a cd's in older cd readers which i've just burn't with my Philips 48 speed writer. I'm using Nero and was wondering if there was any setting that I could use which will also me to read them in older drives.

Thanks
Gareth

Gareth - Do you have the drive details ? Make/Model/Firmware Revision ?

A lot of older drives will struggle to read recordable media but it may be fixable with a firmware update.

Don't older drives struggle with multi session CDs? Do you 'close' the CD when writing it? Note you can't write anything else to the CD once it's closed.

Hmmm, Just had a thought which may help. CD's written by my 48 speed philips writer can only be read in another writer, is this strange or what ?

The drive is a Philips 48a (I think)

Thanks all
Gareth

As Chris said, ensure you close/finalise the CD when burning. Many older CD-ROM drives will then be able to read it.

Cheers

Question

Do you get this option when writing an ISO image?. I've just downloaded Redhat 8 as ISO images and i've burn't them to cd. I'll check, but I don't remember seeing an option from within Nero.

I'm taking my company laptop home tonight to see if that works, as i'm sure it does.

Thanks again
Gareth.
