found some old home vids and i would like to put them onto dvd but dont know how to

I use a WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe card. Works very well.
Captures in MPEG-1, 2, 4 or any other codec you fancy.

If you don't want to do it yourself there of loads of places that will convert it for you with chapters, menus and stuff at a rate of about £25-30 per hour of footage.

Or you could buy a DVD recorder (unit) then plug the video into it.

The one ive got is the Panasonic E50 & is brilliant
