Hello
Can anyone explain in terms for stupids how to get a DivX files to work on an X-Box? And if it's possible to store them on the hard drive to play them?

Yes you can play DivX files from the Xbox HDD. You need to use the Xbox Media Player (XBMP)
Myself and DJ Dunk I know have done this successfully so far.
