emailing through proxy on LAN?

Somehow I've just managed to setup my FTP uploader with the proxy and I can upload pics via my laptop through proxy via my LAN connected to my main PC(wahoo!)
Anyway, feeling pleased with myself I thought i'd try and get the email working on my laptop.
Is it possible using proxy+?, I've seen mail options in proxy+ but haven't tried putting in my pop3 details etc.
