Any of you blokes with a P800 managed to get it talking to your laptop via IR yet?
If so, could you let me know how you did it please?

This might help.
On your p800 do the following ...
Control Panel
Connections
Infrared
Infrared Status ... Select PC Connect.
Let me know if it works. You may have to adjust your desktop settings.
