Talking

Hi All

I want to have a play with "laying down some phat beats" well making some music anyway, not mixing(I have that to a tee on the PC already)

So looking for music creation software - the type where you drag and drop samples on to a canvass / stave thingy

Any suggestions? amateur and pro stuff all considered

thx

AP

The Ejay stuff is quite good and dead easy but if you have a bit of knowledge of music/computers then Reason is the only way to go, takes a bit of getting into but it is amazing, Reason 2 is out now and the stuff you can do with it beggars belief !

Acid a good one, as is Reason - depends on how serious you wanna get I presume you're doing this on PC (so it can't be that serious

You could also look at FruityLoops...

Cubase when I'm feeling brave, otherwise if you want to get old skool there are loads of nice homebrew trackers out there like Fastfcuk3r based around the old FastTracker layout.

The closest to what you want to do and (reasonably) professional is acid pro, reason is awesome but can be abit daunting, another reason type app is arturia storm or orion platinum, you might also want to look at fruity loops!!!

Theres so many but acid is a good start! You'll also need a decent WAV editor like cool edit.

Have fun
