Can anybody help me solve this problem as BT are reluctant to help and I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this.

Here it is: We have a broadband connection with 5 fixed IP's but BT said upon sale we could connect up to 10 PC's with ease. We want to connect a sixth but it will not go on no matter what I try.

The 5 other PC's are using their fixed IP's and we really need to keep it this way as people work outside of the office using PC Anywhere etc.

How can I get that 6th PC on the network without ruining what is already in place. The unhelpful fellow at BT suggested using a DCHP server, but I have no idea what that is.

Can anyone help?

What is the Subnet set to?

If you are using fixed IPs, I presme BT supplied the 6th IP address for you to use?

A DHCP server is used to allow PCs to get their IP address automatically from a preset range of numbers.

As fig says .. find out your subnet .. that will determine how many addresses there are in your range.
