Just a thought, but I'd recommend installing the Nimo Codec Pack and making sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

right click on the video file & look at the properties. That should tell you what codec was used to create the clip. Then install that required driver

Player 9 should have all the required codecs but some weird ones work better on the orginal mplayer

Hi Folks,

I've got a weird problem with WMP 9 on XP. For some reason as soon as I play a video (mpeg wmv etc) it either reboots or hangs my pc without error.

I'm wondering if some duff video codec or something is causing this (ive had divx and another mpeg2 decoder installed - but they are uninstalled now).

Anyone got any ideas ??? manybe tips on manually removing via registry etc ???

Its really p!$$!ng me off because I can't watch phoneix nights series 2
