I want to write a web based app using an activex dll. I can interact with an asp page defining the object and producing web pages to be response.written to the client. I'd rather just go to the dll though, eg

intranet.fosters.com/subdir/application.dll?page=main&user=Fosters

how do I pass data to the dll and send an HTML page back to the client browser?

also what do I have to change in IIS 5 to allow DLLs to run?

(VB6 btw, not .Net... David )

I dunno about ASP as Im Cold Fusion and I use several custom dll's for certain tasks via a route called CFX_ custom tags so I can interface with any dll or java class to do certain more complex routines. The bridge is handled by the CF API.

I would imagine ASP has something similar but I dont know what it is, some kind of object creation I would imagine I would be surprised if you had to go down the ISAPI route has one of your other posts has indicated.

Edited to says oops didnt read your post properly!

isapi seems to be the solution.
