I want to get into online gaming but know actually nothing about it. Anyone know any good info websites for beginners, plus what games are hot at the moment??

barrysworld is a great place to get reading for on-line games. At the moment Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal seem to be the new games on the block but by far the best online game (been biggest online games for couple of years now) is Counter-Strike. As there where way to may CS posts for some peoples likings the CS playing scoobyneters hang out here now.

CS is a addon for Half-Life which can be brought from your local games shop from 9.99

As an addition, EA games seem to come with Gamespy which is used to find servers.

All seeing eye is much better and doesn't have any adverts.
