You need data to share to get in the good hubs.
I can recommend :

I reckon the best by far is DC++. Basically Direct Connect but better - the fact you can get in loads of hubs simultaneously and search them all easily offsets the few hubs you can't get into. One feature it doesn't have (which KaZaA does) is downloading the same file from multiple sources - hopefully will be added soon.

NOOOOO!! DC++ is the devil 
We don't allow it in our network for 2 reasons.
EVIL has acociations with DC's creator Jon Hess @ Neo Modus. We helped him beta test the software, and also, DC++ kills the entire point DC was created, which was to stop leachers connecting to loads of hubs and only sharing 1 slot. It will eventually kill the hubs allowing it. If you are in 100 hubs with 2 slots open, the liklyhood of you getting the file you want are 50:1
If you are in a hub which upholds the rules within a strong network, the liklyhood of you getting the file you want is about 1:5

Winmx is great, except remember to turn off personal messaging. Otherwise you get loads of sad b@stards wanting to be your friend.
I love the queueing system in Kazaa, actually tells you how many people in front of you for that file.
Does anyone know if WinMX distributes your IP adress? I know Kazaa does (which is how they track people down
)

edonkey (here) is at a new version.
They have combined the serverless overnet and the server'd donkey to provide a MUCH better system - I have smallville's from series 2 eps 1-12 (13 and 14 coming now). Also startreks (sorry- enterprise) to S02E14..
