Recently I have had the following problem with Outlook Express:

When ever I open, send or delete a mail my computer hangs for a bit. This happens most when sending or deleting a mail. The mouse freezes and I have to just sit andwait.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this. It done it a few montths ago but cured itself now it is back again.

PLEASE HELP.

Try this; open OE, go to tools\options\maintenance
click on the "clean up now" button, click on compact

Failing that, it may be that your anti-virus software is causing the "hang", when it is checking the incoming/outgoing messages.

I had this problem with NAV on Win2K a few weeks ago. I think it may have been a problem with one of their updates, as it sorted itself out a couple updates afterwards. I turned off the outgoing message check, which stopped it happening. However, this is something that you should do only at your own risk. I've switched it back on now.
