Anyone second a motion to pass to the Mods for a Job related forum ?

Yeah, it's invariably more about WHO you know in IT.

'Networking' amongst ex-colleagues/ contractor mates seems to pass info via the jungle drums faster than agencies do.

Any Moderators listening ??

Although this would help me (being a techie type), i can't really see it helping the community much.

Are that many IT jobs actaully posted?

Remember this is a scooby forum after all.

Cheers

Alec,

There isnt a politics / views forum either but spend a day in 'Non-Scooby Related' and you'd think otherwise!

I think that having an IT forum is probably enough. After all we don't have an accountancy/law/plumbing etc forum.

Considering this is a Subaru BBS the muppet forum is the largest and most active and of zero practical use to anybody. A job forum is useful to all. BBS' are for the users, without them no BBS, heed what they say! It's no more out of the way than a DIY or Biking forum.

So, it's a general thumbs up then ?

What's the next step to try and get this implemented then ?

Might as well start by saying that there are some Application Support jobs (4x) going at the place I work, as well as Testers (3x).
I'll know more once the specs are internally published on Monday hopefully.
Based in Edinburgh and are permanent.

Also, HBOS merger projects are kicking off big stylee very soon I've been reliably informed, so anyone with Financial Services experience keep your eyes open.
I think they'll be mostly contract based in Scotland. Again, once I know more I'll post it up. Probably Business/ Systems Analyst orientated.

Top idea

I'm on the verge of getting out of IT altogether but still keeping an eye out for a juicy contract - Derbys, Staffs, Notts area

I applied for a VB/SQL server contract recently which was for 3 weeks at £15/hr! The recruitment consultant told me he'd had 114 applicants - I didn't get it needless to say

Good luck all
