Have an intermittent internet problem with an XP workstation on an SBS network.

SBS is using a router for internet connection.

XP machine appears to be setup ok, but the internet only works intermittently.

I think it is some sort of DNS problem. When it's down,it will ping IP addresses but not a www address.

All other workstations are ok, but none are running XP

Any ideas ?

Questions:

Where is the router on the network? On the LAN or on a second network card in the sbs server?

Is it sbs2000?

Have you set the DNS on the XP machine to a public DNS?

Cheers,
