Can anyone recommend a Dynamic DNS service ? I currently use http://www.dyndns.org/ and a small client called DynDnsUpdater http://www.kana.homeip.net/.
However the complicated bit, is that the client runs on a PC behind a shared connection, and while it works, and updates DynDns with the public IP of the main PC, for some reason the client updates DynDns with the ip address backwards ....
e.g. actual ip is 81.105.102.116, but the client interprets this as 116.102.105.81 !
I can keep the IP updated nicely by visiting the DynDns.org website, but automation is proving a challenge
So, does anyone else use this, and if so can they recommend a client ?
And additionally, is there a better service with a better client elsewhere (my searches indicate not).
Any help, appreciated

Ah ha ...
The IP address returned by checkip.dyndns.org is my real IP, but backwards. Help!
Research done by a user strugging with this problem has shown that older versions of Inktomi's Traffic Server web cache for Linux have endian errors which cause this type of problem; your ISP may be using one of these web caches, or another cache with a similar problem. You may want to suggest that they upgrade their cache, or simply try using http://checkip.dyndns.org:8245/ to avoid their proxy server.
Cool !
