We've got an ordering system which used to run in DOS on some dodgy "Amstrad PPC" 12-yrold pc things. It allows our reps to dial in and send/receive orders/memos/figures etc.

We've recently given them proper laptops with Windows XP etc. We've re-written the software and the term scripts to work on tera-term in windows. However, we're finding that the modem does not always initialise correctly.

On the same machine, sometimes it will work and then other times it just sits waiting and the modem will not return an OK from ATZ.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of stuff who may be able to have a quick look over the connect file?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

I could have a look.... its been quite a long time since I have messed with modem commands though....

If the modem is not responding to ATZ it doesn't sound like a connect file problem though....

have you tried putting the reset command for your modem in before dialling?
