A friend with a PC has been sent some photograpy but the file has no extension and won't load into Photoshop or Acrobat. He's wondering if someone sent the CD intending it for use on a MAC ?

Is it possible WinXP is READING a CD intended for a MAC ?

It'll read the CD, for sure, as thankfully there's pretty good standards. Try "opening as" in photoshop, or copying to hard drive and giving it an extension that matches the file type.

If you can't tell the file type, hex edit the thing and you should find a pointer as to what it actually is.
