I recently discovered a file in my servers Startup folder named Reboot.exe

i never put it there and my firewall, AV programs didn't pick up any malicious intent.

Does anyone know how i can view the structure of this file or can i send someone the file to have a look at? Not sure of its intent though, so under no circumstances should you execute it.

Cheers,

David

Reboot.exe is also included with the NT resource kit.

Either way I would imagine its left over from a service pack update of some sort which maybe died on restart and didn't finish tidying up ?

In 2000 Advanced Server.

i think you may be right about the service pack or system Update.
