I use Ulead Video Studio 6, or Winproducer (because they came with some hardware I had). Simple to use, can do quite alot with them. I'm sure there are better/more expensive ones though.

I use MGI Videowave 5. Pretty good, easy to use, plenty of output types, and it's not too expensive. Have tried the Adobe program (forget the name) which does everything but is super complicated and not worth the hassle IMO, and it's very expensive.

I use Pinnacle Studio DV and it comes with a firewire card..

Done loads of track days with it and overlayed with music and titles.. can even play them all back in my DVD player downstairs.

I use Pinnacle Studio 7 (about £35, well £55 but Pinnacle are doing a cashback offer just now).

Some of the guys on SimplyDV have reported problems with the new version, but you can download a new beta which fixes a lot of bugs.

Studio 7 has no probs, but I'm sure the lads on the SimplyDV forum would give you some good advice on particulars.

Another vote for Pinnacle Studio DV.

Very easy to use.

Adobe Premiere is thought of as the best money can buy.

Next is Ulead Media Studio Pro which is easier to use and very comprehensive.

Then you get the free stuff that comes with your capture card like Studio DV and VideoWave which is basic, but a doddle to use.

Final Cut Pro. No doubt about it, but you need a Mac to run on.

Adobe Premiere may be thought of as the best there is, but only by Adobe. It's as flaky as a very flaky thing and uses more resources than the entire US Army on exercise.

We binned it at BBC OnLine because it was too unreliable.

ULead Video Studio is pretty good, especially for shareware/bundleware.

SBradley - I hate Adobe Premiere too, but I know a lot of people who won't use anything else!

I use Ulead for my stuff.

Hi All,

Im looking for some video software to edit some track day vids, maybe add some effects and music etc.(they will be avis or mpegs or somehting off my digi camera)

So what are people using - want something fairly easy to use, and prefereably something I can "evaluate" from Kazaa first........
