Stupid hard drive question

Having just got a digital camera, how do I know how much hard drive space I have available for images. My system is 3 1/2 years old and therefor a museum piece.....400mhz 8.4 GB hard drive running windows 98.

All help much appreciated

Right click on your c:\ drive in explorer and select 'properties' to tell you how much you have left.

If you are going to keep a lot of images, then a disk of 40GB can be picked up for around £50.

The price difference between 40, 60 and 80GB drives these days is faff all.

However, given the add of your PC it might not recognise anything bigger than an 80GB.

Is it a brand name PC? Might be worth checking the manufacturers web site to see if they have any info about the biggest HD it will support.
