I know there are ways to stop pop ups appearing on web pages, but I have a very nasty one which seems to load itself whatever webpage I am on and it then "spawns" a host of other advertising popups which are really awkward to delete as they keep on re-loading.
Is there any way I can find where this file is eminating from so that I can stop it? Ironically it is advertising a "Pop Up Stopper" which out of principal I would not think of using due to the ad's persistance.

also, if it's a single host you want to block you can add an antry to your hosts files like :-
127.0.0.1 ads.spammer.com
(obviously change the second part to the actual host name)
