Whats the best way and maintain at least vhs quality.

Tried uncompressed avi in to mpeg 1 for vcd and it was too bad.

Using svhs into a vivo geforce 4 card

Do I need to junk the lot and go digital cam and firewire ?

Thoughts from those in the know ?

Keep it all digital - Camcorder to PC via firewire card.
Capture into avi
Edit in avi
Finally dump it on CDR in SVCD format.
