It seems that no-one using AOL can get Scoobynet at the moment Am using dial-up to post this - AOL say it's nothing to do with them - anybody any ideas or solutions?

Get a proper ISP?
There was a problem with one of the SN DNS servers last night. The primary DNS is back up now, so it might just need another replication cycle for the AOL DNS servers to update again.

In simple terms a DNS (domain name server) maintains a list of domain names (websites) and their corresponding IP address. So instead of typing in 217.76.96.7 you enter www.scoobynet.co.uk which is a lot easier to remember. The DNS translates this into an IP address and routes you to the site.
All domain names are registered with domain provider - in Scoobynet's case, the provider has gone bust, so Simon has had to transfer the address to another provider.
Globally, DNS updates can take upto 48 hours - it just depends. That is why some people have been able to reach Scoobynet via the normal domain name and some haven't.
More info, if you're interested can be found here.

You have to bear with Redkop, as I told her all this on the phone the other night. She obviously has a problem with memory retention after a nights sleep!!!
