when playing any audio or video file in either media player or WinAmp, the computer is playing around 8-10 seconds then hesitating for about half a second then carrying on for another 8-10 seconds. Basically every 8-10 seconds you get a hiccup in the sound.
The OS is Windows XP Pro SP1, running on an ASUS A7V8X with onboard realtek AC97 sound. Athlon XP2400+, GF4Ti4600.
I have just done a fresh reinstall and this has not cured it.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
