Whats your all-time favorite video game?

STi-Frenchie, remember Attack (or maybe Revenge) of the Mutant Camels well. Bought it myself from a local Newsagent on tape for about £8 (quite a lot in those days) - Wacky side scrolling shooter by Jeff Minter.
Anyway, one game which I really loved was Super Shinobi on my Jap import Megadrive. As we know Jap imports are better ;-) and I had to have my games running at the correct speed in 60 hz with a full screen. There were lots of lovely colour pictures in the instruction book as well instead of the black and white crap UK releases gave us - why do we always downgrade the original Jap product (some things never change). I loved it for it's great arcade like graphics, playability and superb sound by Yuzo Koshiro. In it's day it made Amiga (had one of them as well) arcade games look a bit silly really and had no equal on any other home format.

Chiark, yes I loved Speedball by the Bitmap Brothers. It was my first game on the Amiga 500 along with Rocket Ranger - that was great as well with sampled speech (not common in those days) and a real cinematic feel (it was by Cinemaware so I guess that's not surprising). They did 'It Came from the Dessert' as well which was also superb.

For me, it just has to be The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64 console.
No other game has had me so sucked in and been so moving during progression through to the grand finale.

We talking console or PC? I'll do both anyway:
PC: Duke Nukem 3d - how many hours of uni spent missing lectures to play multiplayer duke over our lan. Was well worth it though. Made doom look like a pile of crap.
Console: GTA Vice City is looking fave. Goldeneye 4 player on the N64 has been played the most though. Quality playing licence to kill (one shot u die) with moonraker lasers
Simon.

Ooooh. In terms of time spent playing, it's probably Starglider on the Spectrum/Amiga. UT is up there too.
Way of the Exploding Fist on the Speccy also absorbed many days of my life.

agree with zelda - good game, but not in the same league as Res evil.

Zelda on the SNES and Z64 are without doubt the best console games yet. I have high hopes for the GameCube version.
Best PC game is Dopewars
Best arcade game is Street Fighter II (Champion Edition). I am the undefeated championb of the world at that game...even beat the Chinese

Good God ! I thought the Camels were long dead with only dinosaurs like me remembering them...I'll be off looking for a PC version of Revenge and/or Attack - thanks guys !
Can't wait to get back to some good side-spitting action
Guess my kids will find it a bit tame but then again, I still love Missile Command which they can't get the hang of !

Speedball, anyone? (The game, not the drug mix) Fantastic simple game with utterly excellent gameplay...
For llamasoft goodness, hie thee hither to Llamasoft and try GR++. It's fantastic
No sign of Attack/Revenge remake from Yak himself, as he's busy with The Project, but you never know your luck
Starglider on the amiga - beautiful game. Jez San and the Argonauts...
Manic Miner on the 64. PLayed it for months. Even though it took 15 minutes to load
I also enjoyed the old Magnetic Scrolls text adventures, but that's a bit sad to admit no doubt
