Debating getting a games console this Xmas but don't know much about them or hwo much to spend - the last computer game I remember playing was Donkey Kong in about 1984!
Which one do I get (XBox, Gamecube, PS2 etc) and what's the best games to go for?
Cheers,
SS.

What have your mates got? If you get the same you can share games.
At the moment, I think the PS2 has the widest choice of games. But the X-Box is gaining momentum fast.

I just picked up an XBOX at the weekend, I think that as its so far ahead in technology, It will be a few years before its considered old hat, The titles are just beginging to come onto the market now and in terms of spec will take something special to pass it. It also has a much better DVD player in it.
Microsoft has the financial muscle to bring quality games to the market and as it is using PC technology, is right up their street. The others have been out for a while so they are bound to have a better back catologue of titles but it wont stay this way for long IMHO.

Please get the Xbox with Halo, Splinter Cell, Rallisport Challenge, Dead or Alive 3, MotoGP, Amped and Jet Set Radio Future (All different game-generes)! These games are only available on Xbox and are really top quality. Some of them you can get in Xbox bundles, which are a bargain!!
We all know that the PS2 has a very big game library by now, but 90 % of all the games available are totally crap!!!
