I want to upgrade the speed, memory and hard drive on my P.C. Is it easier just to buy a new one than to buy the seperate upgrade components?
I've seen an ad for a 2.66mhz 512mb ram and 80gb hard drive P.C for £800, plus get a free printer. Sounds quite a good deal, but would the savings be much greater upgrading my current PC?

You didn't say what you currently have. If P4 or AMD equivalent I'd say just replace the bits you mentioned. If older, buy new. Another factor to take into account is how long you want it to last, I always try to buy the "best" I can at the time knowing that within a week or two something faster/better will be available. If you buy old today it will simply be older tomorrow.

I currently have 750mhz, 20.4 gb hard drive and 128k memory. Some of the deals on these new machines are crazy.

Depends what you want to do with it I guess. My PC is the same spec as yours and I'm getting fed up with the little hour-glass things and the various little delays I keep coming across.
I've got myself a new motherboard and an Athlon 2100+ CPU for about £110. When I get round to fitting them I reckon they'll cure most of my problems
I've also been buying odds and sods over the last couple of months so now have a fast 40Gb HDD and about 1 gig of RAM.

If you don't have a printer and or scanner and need them then one of the package deals might be best for you. Your old PC will be worthless secondhand so you could network them together for a bit of head to head gaming action

I have a printer/scanner and an excellent monitor already, but if it is going to cost £500 for the tower, I might as well put another £200 towards it and get the extras they throw in like Monitor, Printer, scanner and software and then sell them or keep them as spares.
Anyone know of any good deals at the moment for towers or complete packages?
