Well, it's Apple kit so rather funky! The new ones with larger hard drives are meant to be rather cool indeed. Depends if you'll get use out of it. From a style point of view, it's pretty unbeatable, and it's meant to be rather cool bit of kit as well.

Guess it depends what you're going to use it for. ie; home, personal, in-car. When/if I upgrade my head unit it will support MP3, so I'll just rip my CD's to MP3 cd's and play em, which is kinda what I do now. Rip em at work onto my iMac, burn em to CD, then play them in my portable CD player, which handles MP3's, and I have car adaptor kit for this as well, so don't really need a new head unit.

helpful chap aint i?

Thumbs up

My m8 at work has a 20gb IPod. He luvs it to bits, sound is very good, recharge and transfere via Firewire.

You can also buy a Radio transmiter that you plug into it via the headphones jack. Select an FM band on the unit then tune in your car radio or whatever. He is very impressed with it. Cost about 20quid from the states.

There is a 40gb IPod possibly being released l8er this year or beggining of next.

If u want any more info let me know.

You should have picked one up at the Mac Expo as we were doing them at £2.00 above cost !

Let me know if you want any help.

As has been said the sound quality is superb and its a very very good product and street ahead of most of the competition due to the storage capacity and the battery capability.

Cool

I've got one (5Gb) and used it almost daily since I bought it. Fantastic piece of kit especially if your using it alongside a Mac and iTunes - Not used the Windows stuff.

Works great through a tape adapter - i've switched to a direct Aux-In cable and its better but the tape is far from bad. Lasts about 8-10 hours in the car as long as you don't constantly change tracks but you can get car kits for them.

Very funky indeed, so much so the missus has nicked it.

DigitalWay will be releasing an iPod lookalike late December/early Jan. There's a preview on the Swiss distributor's site at www.mpio.ch. We'll be stocking them at www.ihavetohave.it and therefore placing them in the Scoobynet shop.

Cheers

Lee.

Doh! It's been removed since I last looked... swines. Anyhow, we expect availability late Dec/Jan and from the previews you'd be hard pressed to tell it apart from an iPod.

ok... we've been doing some brainstorming and it looks likely that when we launch the mpio HD100 (assume January), we'll also have developed an in-car cradle for power and audio and will come up with a range of aux-in adaptors for 50+ OE head units.

email for more info and watch this space!
