Question

What is the GBdash you talk of? - if it is some software, try uninstalling it through [start] -> [settings] -> [control panel] -> [add/remove programs]

Need more info really as you have not given anything to go on:
What Operating System?
Which ISP?
What Spec PC?
etc, Jon

As your dial up connection is working I would probably be inclined to leave it and just do the usual scandisk to fix any drive errors

If it gets worse then maybe uninstall your dialup settings and re-add them but don't do that now if your dial up is working fine
