Question

Any recommendations for gamepads?

As some of you know, I'm making a movie PC with an X-Card to get hardware video decoding, but as I have a TV out, I may as well do something I've planned for a while!

A MAME machine on the same box, to play those classic arcade games!

Any recommendations on a pair of USB gamepads! Or even ones that plug into a game port as I have one of those with a through port, so I only need one more!

Secondhand considered if you have some kicking around!

I use a USB to Playstation pad coverter and use my old Playstation analogue pads on my PC. The converters are only about a fiver and the PS pads are far better than any PC pad I have seen.

Now there's a good idea, especially as the PS2 will be sat 2 foot away from the PC!!!

Where can I get the convertors from?

This is where I got mine from. They seem to have gone up in price to £9.99 now, but still good value

A few other places do them cheaper, may be worth having a search around.

There is also one available that supports the force feedback, which mine does not. I'll try to locate the site for you

Lik-Sang have got a few options available, including one that you can use a GameCube controller with if you fancy

One of each it is then

The Lik-Sang ones look better, just make sure the one you get supports force feedback

They are great for playing Mame roms.

Yep, Space Harrier is available on Mame. Dragons Lair 3D comes out on X-Box soon. Hopefully it'll be a bit more playable

I've played Dragon's Lair on Laser Disc and it was just as bad as the original!!!

I thought they released it on DVD about a year ago! Not sure.

Dragon's Lair on DVD Region 1

Dragon's Lair 2 on DVD Region 1

I can't find anything on region 2 though, but I guess most of you have multi region players!
