new graphics card
#1
My computers getting on a bit, so its in need of a spruce up.
Need another new graphics card (currently running Geforce mx400 64mb) was thinking of getting:ATi Radeon 9000 pro 128mb I can get it for £74 +vat
3 questions:
a) do i get this or spend a bit more and get Geforce Ti4200
b) will i notice enough difference between this and my old card?
c) Is is worth getting cheap 128mb card or expensive 64mb card?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
David

Try downloading the 3d software at madonion.com (about 22mb). You can go online afterwards and compare your score with a similar PC with a different graphics card. I have used it for past upgrades and found it very accurate.
Hope this helps

if it a geforce 2 mx u have u will notice the diff definitely goin to a geforce 4 ti4200 (smoother and better frames per sec)
u can get a 64mb from dabs.com for 84 quid plus vat.
128mb is a tiny bit slower but supposedly more futureproof.
that why i went for 64mb

had both,
depends on what you want to spend, as for 3d there was approx 2500 poionts between the 9000pro (which i was selling on this board now gone) and mt gf4
personally go for the leadtek gf4 ti 4200, this card if you get the right one will clock to ti4400/4600 speeds lovely card with full vivo
it's your call , but spend the extra and get a card that will last you and run doom 3 no problem
