After following microsofts article on how to move an exchange server to a new computer with the same name (Q155216)I have found that I can start all the services fine and access all the mailboxes however I cannot send or recieve emails and have noticed when I run the performance optimizer tool there is no entry for the location of the imcdata files (Internet Mail Services Files) , I have also found when I go into the queues tab under the internet mail service properties everything is greyed out.
I am moving the Exchange server from NT4 sp6 to Win 2k sp3 both have the latest exchange service pack installed.
Have I missed somthing out or any ideas to what I have done wrong ??
Any help would be most appreciated !
Thanks

Remove the Internet Mail Connector and re-installl it or if you have moved to XC2000 try installing and configuring the POP3 mail connector (Assuming that you use a POP3 mail for incoming) XC2000 is setup to send mail via any available connection by default after install. Also if you install SP3 for SBS or 2K you will find that the "Retrieve Now" function has moved from the POP connector to the Personal console, Hope this helps
p.s. was the article you read the one with the reference to having the number of a local pizza delivery firm handy??? <- I Kid U Not
