My sister is thinking of bringing a PS2 back from Singapore
2 questions
1: will it work on our system 2: how would the warranty stand up, would it come with a global warranty??
Any help appreciated
Cheers

Not sure about warranty - I doubt you're covered to run on a European system.
Imported Playstation2's are designed to run on foreign tv sets, which use a system called NTSC, opposed to European PAL.
Essentially you can run one on a TV equipped to handle 60Hz, which most modern TV's do these days. I do this myself with my American PS2.
You'll need a step-down transformer so it runs on our 240v/1/50Hz electrical supply.
It won't play UK games unless you get it chipped.

Hello
I bought my DreamCast in Singapore.
It *should* come with the correct transformer as the voltage in Singapore is 220V.
As DazV specified, you will need a television that will support 60hz. Most new televisions do through the RGB connectors.
Remember that unless you chip the PlayStation, you will only be able to play Japanese games.
Steve.
