Tested disk on laptop..no problem. On new computer (Compaq) dvd skips a bit.... Could the lens need cleaning?? or what??

check your task manager/performance to see if your processor is working too hard during the judder.

ok, if you are using w2k or XP, do CTRL-ALT-DEL to get task manager. click on performance and it should show you a performance monitor bar.

to enable DMA, goto control panel/system/device manager and click on the IDE ATA/ATAPI, and double click on primary and secondary IDE channel. click on advanced settings. in transfer mode, select DMA if available.
