I'm thinking of an Ipaq but there are a few models to choose from whats the difference? Is it worth getting the top of the range one?

All I want it for is memos, appointments and site surveys b ut might possibley use it for more when I find out excactly what they can do.

wait until nearer christmas... you may find a cheaper ipaq becomes available that has enough memory to do calendar/contacts to hit the consumer sweetspot.

Cool

Get a Loox - cheaper but just as good if not better Make sure whatever has inbuilt Bluetooth & as much expansion ability as poss.

What else can you do with it? Well, personal SatNav springs to mind ( ), emailing, web-browsing on the move. VPN to office & remote control of systems (VNC). Then all sorts of applications like Word, Excel, expense programs, planning etc etc.
