Ok chaps,
Here's one for you as I'm
Have a IntelliMouse Explorer connecting into a USB port which has been working fine for ages. All of a suddened (during RTCW!) the mouse starts freezing followed quickly by a "bing boing" noise, then shortly afterward as "boing bing" and the mouse unfreezes
So close all progs down, and it's still doing it. Identified the "bing boing" noise as the Windows "Device Connect" sound and the "boing bing" as Windows "Device Disconnect" - as if it thinks I'm trying to connect something - which I'm not. Don't have any other devices connected into a USB port either.
So I have uninstalled the Intellimouse drivers and gone back to the standard PS/2 port mouse and that has solved the problem, so it seems to be related to the Intellimouse Tried it on every USB port and the same happens - freeze followed by a device connect noise, then device disconnect noise then it unfreezes.
Any ideas how I might be able to fix this, or is my meece faulty somehow?
Muchos gracias

Spooky!
I was going to post an identical thread.
My intellimouse is doing exactly the same thing, but I don't want to fork out another $100 just to find out that its a problem with my usb port ...
But I've tried the mouse in all four ports and it does the same thing. Annoying thing is that it won't do it for days, and then right at the critical point (playing a game usually), the blooming thing will fail.
Andrew.
