Last week I ordered some new stuff for my PC. All excited next day when the goods arrive, but that was short lived
Instead of a nice shiny new Epox AMD board, they've sent me a P4 board. Simple mistake, could happen to the best if us I think.
Returns dept are very helpful and agree (without question) that they will refund the cost of sending the wrong motherboard back and will pay for the correct board to be shipped out to me.
Great, but again that hasn't lasted long. I've received a Epox AMD board, but it's still the wrong feckin one
I'll give em one last chance; 3 strikes and their out.
I'm I just unlucky or are eBuyer just cr@p?

Stefan,
I ahve used them quite a bit in the past and they have been good. However the last time i tried to order some kit from then i had days and days of awaiting stock.... so i swicthed to dabs.com and all went thru next day.
I'd send em a mail and see how good their customer service is... trouble is they are usually the best price.
I norm try to use dabs, microwarehouse (occasionally) and scan.

At least you're able to get through to returns - Overclockers were quite good, but took two weeks to turn around a dead on arrival mobo for me...
Carry on with them, as long as they're being responsive.

Must just be my bad luck
I'll give them credit; there customer services has been pretty good, although getting through on the phone can be lengthy. The want to do everything online (fair enought these days), but sometimes you just want to speak to a Manager and get things sorted.
Hopefully, the correct board will arrive tomorrow - fingers crossed everyone

i found dabs has the worse Customer service.
They sent me a case and it looked like they'd played football with it.
Then took over a month for them to sort it

You've been lucky, all they did was send me inferior kit. Maybe they should send me something else as a freebie for all the hassle they've caused

You have got to be joking about Dabs!!!
I had a drive from them that went faulty well within warranty. Sent it back and it was accepted/signed for at their end. This was back in APRIL! Heard nothing from them. Close to 4 hours of waiting on the customer helpline and 10 emails later, I still have not managed to get hold of any scumbag there!!!
I am soooooo peeved with them.
Cheers,
Nick.

I can't feckin believe it. Yet another wrong board shows up this morning @&*!$%
Either some tw@t in the warehouse needs some good "educating" or their system is completely ****.
Well I've had enough; I'm £300 out of pocket having to re-order the damn things.

Well you guys are extremely lucky.
I am trying to dig up the link for the dabs spoof site which states all of the problems with them. Just spent another 30 mins on hold to them today before getting cut off at caller number2 where someone picked it up then put it down on me. That is the closest that I have got so far without being cut off

I've used both dabs and scan....
Ordered my laptop from dabs, confirming they were in stock before I placed the order. 1 week passed and nothing came, so I rang them up to be told "sorry, your order got stuck in the system - we'll push it through today". This happened 4 times, and it took nearly 3 weeks for the order to arrive. Not happy.
Ordered loads of stuff from scan for a new system I was building. The sent the wrong sort of RDRAM chips, so I had to arrange a replacement. After sitting on the phone, being passed between tech support and sales numerous times, and waiting for people to ring back (which they never did), I found out that they couldn't send me the correct stuff because they sold the last lot that morning, while I was on hold on the phone. Grrrr. They ordered me some (which I had to pay for, and which arrived the next week), and I returned the erroneous chips for a refund. Not only did I have to pay for the postage to return the chips, (which I've never got back) but I also had to wait 3 weeks for them to refund the £300 that they cost. I won't be using scan again....
Seems that standard of the tech support / customer services in all the online dealers seem to have fallen dramatically. I blame it on the fact that they are all running on skeleton staff to try and stay competetive.....

I was going to buy a laser printer from Dabs. My dad works for a company who sell the same company's products, and reckons that Dabs are selling them at cost or below and making their money out of the kickback they get for selling a certain number a year. At best, they are making around 5-10 quid on a 250 quid printer
I've not actually had any problems with either Dabs or Ebuyer -- apart from when Ebuyer did a check on 192.com to find out if I actually lived there...

They all seem much the same for poor service and poor support when it goes wrong.
I ordered a whole load of memory from Komplett to upgrade about 40 PC's here @ work. I didn't realise, but they shipped the stuff from Oslo to Copenhagen to Midlands, then up here to Edinburgh. I just hope I don't have to return anything
I'm giving Scan a go, so we'll see just how good or bad they compare to the others.
If these companies are making very little margin on the kit online, how can they afford to provide decent staff and proper cutomer services. Some of the prices are only a few pounds more than bulk trade prices.

Well, it seems one online trader is just as bad as another.
Ordered an HP printer from scan on Thursday. Nothing arrives on Friday (I've paid for next day delivery). As I'm away Fri/Sat, I wait to see if anything shows up today.
I've just managed to get through to their customer services to be told that it's out-of-stock and won't be available for another week
WTF ! why don't these online sites tell you what's in and out of stock in real-time? FFS, how difficult is it to link the warehouse stock control with the online store?
If I'd know it was out of stock with a weeks lead time, I'd never have ordered the ******.
