I'm sure most of us know how to create a mail merge, but does anyone know how to:

create an email-merge?

If there were a list of email addresses (in Word, Excel, whatever) is there a way to use those address in an individual email to all those addreses?

Cheers
Andy

Easily achieved on a Unix box with a simple shell script, not sure about M$ Win32 platforms.

Probably easier to use an ASP script with CDONTS and BCC one mail to everyone in the list. This way it sends in one attempt and everyones address remains hidden.

If this is what you require I can give you an ASP program for doing this.

Hi Andy,

This is not too difficult, do you want to auto send an email to all in this list, or just invoke a new email window with the To: box filled in......

you can do it in outlook/office xp.

Same way as mail merge for letters accept you point to your address book, or database of names/email addresses

Thanks for your replies guys!

What we have is a list of clients and their mail addresses, but what we want is to send them updates (not spam ), so they say 'Dear so and so' and to the correct mail address!

I'll check all the replies and let you know!

Thanks
Andy
